We spoke with him about the origins, present and future of his publishing project , which is now more than just a unified reality . Nuevo Tribune : How did Punto de Vista Press come about ? What is its goal ? ALBERTO VICENTE : Punto de Vista in Reborn in 2011, the aim is to become a leading publisher in the field of humanities research . Like many other such professional programs , it has a very strong vocational component . NT : What is your collection? AV : It has four collections: two collections of essays, where we publish works related to traditional culture in the humanities, a collection of plays , and recently we have included a collection of contemporary narratives. NT : Do you have an “author policy” ? Or leave it to the big publishers? AV : We always support author policies.
In fact , we have some authors who are their reference publishers: Sergio Blanco , Marbel Sandoval , Orlando Mejía Rivera , María Rostworowski , Justo Serna , Borja Ortíz de Gondra , José Luis Gómez Urdáñez , José Luis González Subías , LM Oliveira wait Of these we have published or are about to publish three or more books . NT : Are there any works that the publisher is particularly “proud” of? Have you ever had a “ sales success” experience ? Ancient UAE Phone Number Medicine AV : We are proud of the work we do on each book , some of which have gone on to second, third or even fifth editions: The Hard Easy Life , " Silent Women of the Middle Ages", "Marquis of Ensenada ", " Guardians of Ancestral Wisdom " , "Spain" Ranger 's autobiographical novel . Self-engineering etc. The fact that a book sells more is the satisfaction of "the box" and allows us to face other less commercial projects , but which we feel should be in the catalog middle. This is how nearly all publishers work: Some books fund other books . We published "background" books , which is why all of our books still exist. One of our most ambitious projects is Orlando Mejía Rivera 's five -volume history of medicine.
It begins with a text that everyone interested in humanities and history can read , covering all stages in the history of medicine from Egypt to the present day. NT : This collection is full of writers of different nationalities and traditions , combining essays, novels , plays , experiences of writers such as diaries or interviews ( Javier Sercas or Latin American writers). Is this diversity based on some kind of " editorial line " or is there a lot of opportunity? AV : The humanities are very broad and we feel very comfortable with many of them , so we don't set out to develop a single niche or target a single type of reader . The editorial articles cover rigorous writing by great experts in the fields of history , thought, biography , etc. , as well as works related to humanistic traditional culture from classical to contemporary times, covering philosophy, literary studies, performing arts , music, etc. and movie theaters . Chekhov Variations As for the theater , it's almost a press within a press, directed by Felipe Díez . We cover the work of the most representative national and international writers currently working in theatre. In just over three years we have been able to publish outstanding top authors.
